KUALA LUMPUR (September 19): Yinson Holdings Bhd has partnered with CelcomDigi Bhd to leverage its network as Yinson looks to promote adoption of clean energy solutions throughout the country through EV charging stations, e-bikes and solar infrastructure integration.

According to a joint statement, the collaboration will enable Yinson to utilise CelcomDigi’s 4G LTE and 5G network to improve connectivity for chargEV, the country’s largest charging station operator, to provide a better experience for EV users.

CelcomDigi chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Idham Nawawi said the partnership with Yinson is intended to promote the adoption of green technologies among Malaysian consumers in support of the country’s energy goals as outlined in the New Industrial Master Plan 2030.

“The automotive industry is undergoing radical transformation, with automakers agreeing that the next five years will bring about more change, driven by the significant possibilities brought about by EVs in particular, and green technology in general.

“We will explore various opportunities, from enabling connected assets to developing a robust and integrated infrastructure ecosystem,” he said.

Yinson CEO Lim Chern Yuan, meanwhile said that leveraging CelcomDigi's marketing expertise and experience can help bring the EV services offered by Yinson to a wider audience.

“Connectivity and innovative technology are the building blocks of the efficient, clean and equitable transportation system of the future. Together, we hope to put clean, integrated solutions into the hands of everyday Malaysians, bringing us collectively closer to achieving the nation’s net zero goals,” said Lim.
