PETALING JAYA (Dec 20): Tropicana Foundation, the charity arm of Tropicana Corporation Bhd has raised about RM102,000 for 120 underprivileged children from six homes around Klang Valley.

This was done via Tropicana’s annual Seasons of Joy & Giving charity drive by setting up strategic donation drop-off points at Tropicana property galleries, Tropicana Gardens Mall and Tropicana Golf & Country Resort as well as organising a festive luncheon event to commemorate the handover of donated goods.

Committee members and volunteers of Tropicana Foundation gave their time and effort to “ensure the entire charity campaign went on smoothly from start to finish”, stated Tropicana in a media release.

120 kids were invited to a sumptuous lunch at Tropicana Gardens Mall with a special Santa Clause appearance offering fun interactive games and raffle draws.

“Back for the fourth year, Tropicana Foundation has once again rolled out its annual Seasons of Joy & Giving charity drive. To us, nothing could be more meaningful than celebrating Christmas and New Year by giving back to the community. Having well-surpassed our collection target in a relatively short amount of three weeks span is a true testament to the commitment of our team at Tropicana in supporting the less fortunate,” said Dion Tan, group managing director of Tropicana.

“We are thankful to all our generous sponsors, Tropicana Foundation committee members and volunteers who have contributed their time and efforts to raise various funds from cash, food, vitamins to dry goods, for the children.

“This charity campaign is also in line with Tropicana Foundation’s focus on Redefining the Art of Caring and the Group’s commitment to environmental, social and governance principles,” he added.

One of the biggest sponsors is VitaHealth, which extended a donation of more than RM41,000 worth of vitamins to the children, caretakers and volunteers. Other sponsors include Big Bad Wolf, Thai Odyssey, GSC, Burger King, Wow Media, Tropicana Alam, Curvena, MST Golf, Llao Llao, Tropicana Gardens Mall and Tropicana Golf & Country Resort.
