KAJANG (March 11): Positive growth trends have been observed in Kajang’s residential property market, as shown through data shared during a property talk held at the Se.duduk D’ Kajang Sales Gallery here over the weekend.

The organisers, EdgeProp Malaysia, highlighted that Kajang’s home prices have been outperforming the national average, with an increase of 8% since 2010 compared to the Malaysian Home Price Index’s 6% growth.

A few major demand drivers were cited, among them the construction of the Kajang Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Station in 2015, and the presence of colleges and universities, which continue to foster a skilled workforce and steady demand for rental homes. The forecasted 40% population growth in the Kajang-Bangi-Semenyih corridor by 2035 will further fuel housing demand.

An EdgeProp consumer survey further indicated a growing preference for optimally-sized homes, with 65% of Kajang homebuyers seeking high-rise units between 1,000 and 1,500 sq ft.

“We looked into our data sets to find out if there is indeed growth in Kajang housing trends and we are excited to share our insights into the local real estate landscape with the Kajang community,” said EdgeProp managing director Alvin Ong.

The talk attracted a full-house attendance over Saturday and Sunday (March 9 and 10), and included a presentation by Eco World Development Group Bhd's Se.duduk D’ Kajang team showcasing their latest offerings.

The Se.duduk D’ Kajang project is the first duduk apartments to be developed out of an EcoWorld township and is now open for registration.
