OSK Foundation and Women’s Institute Of Management partner to empower underserved women

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 16): OSK Foundation (OSKF) has inked a MoU with Women’s Institute of Management (WIM) to empower underserved women in Malaysia.

The partnership aims to create sustainable impact and provide support to women from challenging backgrounds, including single mothers and those from B40 communities, as well as Orang Asli, Orang Asal, and Orang Sungai populations.

“Since the program’s launch in 2019, WIM and OSKF have conducted 22 workshops nationwide. These workshops are designed to impart hands-on entrepreneurial skills and business know-how to help women start and manage their own businesses,” stated OSKF in a media release.

To date, more than 800 underserved women have benefited from the program, with the majority successfully starting their own businesses or improving their existing ones.

“The MoU signed today (Aug 14) marks a new chapter in this partnership, reinforcing our joint commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs through the ‘Seed and Support Women’s Entrepreneurial Grant’,” added OSKF.

This new initiative will provide essential financial support to help women take their businesses to the next level. Applications for the grant are still open until Aug 31, 2024. To apply, please visit https://wimnet.org.my/.
