KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 2): Gamuda Land, the property arm of Gamuda Bhd (KL:GAMUDA), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Trendcell Sdn Bhd to open Jaya Grocer at Gamuda Cove in Kuala Langat. The store will be the anchor tenant of Cove Centrum, the commercial component of the township, and occupy 24,000 sq ft of space.

According to a press statement issued on Monday, Gamuda Land also welcomed 14 new tenants to Cove Centrum, such as Urban Marketplace, 99 Speedmart, ZUS Coffee, Muiz Hot Chicken, Tiga Ikan, Gintell RestNGo, Sleepy Bear, and VRide.

In a press statement on Monday, Gamuda Land chief operating officer Wong Siew Lee said that the collaboration is necessary to cater to the township’s progress: “At Gamuda Cove, we’ve begun welcoming residents with the handover of our first landed residential phase, Palma Sands, and our first high-rise project, Maya Bay Residences. Enso Woods, our second landed residential phase, started handing over keys to homeowners in July”.

Looking ahead to 2027 and prior to completion of the Cove Centrum, she added that Gamuda Cove is expected to feature more than 3,800 homes, and houses a population of around 15,000 people.

Launched in July this year, Cove Centrum features 96 units of two- and three-storey retail shops, and 40% of the units have been taken up.

According to the same statement, Cove Centrum has been designed as a fully-pedestrianised zone, with street-level shops to host al-fresco dining options and retail stores. There will be an e-tram that will traverse Cove Centrum and connect to other commercial components in the townships, such as Townsquare, SplashMania Waterpark and Discovery Park.
