KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): Malaysia's first luxury airport transit hotel, CapsuleTransit MAX, officially opened on Sept 3, according to a press release on Sept 3.

The opening of the hotel, which is located on the landside of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2, was officiated by Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook.

According to the statement, CapsuleTransit MAX (short for Malaysia's Authentic eXperience) can rival any five-star hotel with its 46 premium beds, a lounge, a spa and a fully equipped gym.

Some unique features of this hotel include a "runway suite" that offers views of the runway, steam bath facilities, as well as a business club that offers meeting rooms, conference rooms and event space.

According to the statement, Loke said during the launch that the opening of the hotel was timely as Malaysia geared up to meet the demands of discerning tourists and business travellers for Visit Malaysia Year 2026. "This new CapsuleTransit MAX is a feature we can proudly showcase to our airport guests."

CapsuleTransit founder and chief executive officer Ryan Loo said, “We at CapsuleTransit have come a long way since our inception in 2014. Today, we open yet another chapter as we proudly unveil our latest endeavour of 46 rooms at KLIA Terminal 2. We provide a range of amenities that cater to both leisure and business travellers, ensuring that every guest leaves with a smile."

Additionally, CapsuleTransit MAX has an exclusive merchandise corner, featuring a curated selection of products showcasing Malaysian craftsmanship and brands such as Acaya, APOM, Ana Tomy, Pestle and Mortar Clothing and Typical Us.

The hotel's lounge is also the first plant-based airport lounge, offering a variety of plant-based hot meals, free-flow light nibbles and non-alcoholic beverages, the statement added.

The hotel's interior is designed by design firm Blu Water Studio in collaboration with digital artist Abdul Shakir.
