KPMG resigns as Bina Darulaman’s auditor, less than four months after reappointment

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 12): Bina Darulaman Bhd (KL:BDB) has announced the resignation of Messrs KPMG PLT as its external auditor.

In a bourse filing, Bina Darulaman said that it had received a notice in writing dated Sept 9, 2024 from KPMG of its resignation, pursuant to Section 281 of the Companies Act 2016.

KPMG was reappointed as Bina Darulaman’s auditor at the group’s 29th annual general meeting on May 30, 2024.

“Their resignation was based on mutual consent to enable the company to benefit from fresh perspectives and views of another audit firm,” said Bina Darulaman.

In the same filing, Bina Darulaman said that its board has approved the appointment of Messrs BDO PLT as its auditor for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2024.

Bina Darulaman closed 3.28% higher on Thursday at 32 sen, valuing the Kedah-based property developer and construction outfit at RM94.17 million. Year to date, the counter has appreciated 12.5%.
