KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 17): Sunway Bhd’s (KL:SUNWAY) property arm, Sunway Property, has launched the GreenRE-certified townhome project, Serene Villas, as part of its ongoing Sunway Wellesley master-planned development in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
The project, which has a gross development value (GDV) of RM150 million, would span 3.65 hectares and comprise 210 townhomes designed for multigenerational living, and equipped with infrastructure for electric-vehicle chargers, it said in a statement on Tuesday.
Sunway Property’s chief executive officer for central and northern regions Chong Sau Min said the project reflects the company’s vision as a master community developer to create sustainable, vibrant communities that enhance the quality of life.
“With GreenRE certification, energy-efficient designs, and thoughtfully planned amenities, Serene Villas offers families and individuals a safe, connected, and sustainable living environment.
“Its strategic location and value-added facilities make it a compelling choice for homeowners and investors alike, promising strong potential for capital appreciation in this thriving area,” he said.
The GreenRE certification — the leading green building certification tool developed by the industry in Malaysia — provides homeowners with several benefits, including lower energy and water bills, improved indoor air quality through natural lighting, and ventilation, and a reduced carbon footprint, said the company.
Additionally, it said the project provides access to major transportation networks, including the proposed Raja Uda-Bukit Mertajam Light Rapid Transit (LRT) line, the KTM Electric Train Service station, the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway, and the Penang Bridge.
