Interested homebuyers who use the EdgeProp Jar to save up for their downpayment can enjoy 3.3% p.a. daily interest immediately after signing up for the Jar, and an additional 4.7% p.a. daily interest upon signing the Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for participating Sime Darby Property projects.

The maximum amount an eligible customer may deposit into the EdgeProp Jar is capped at RM20,000.

“Anyone saving for a downpayment using the EdgeProp Jar will see their rewards at the end of the campaign period*.

“EdgeProp is driving this partnership as we seek new ways of helping a new generation of buyers prepare for homeownership with the right tools and real financial support,” said EdgeProp Malaysia managing director, Alvin Ong.

The first six months of the EdgeProp Jar are offered exclusively to Sime Darby Property projects participating in YouthFest 2025, an event held at APW Bangsar on April 19 and 20, 2025. The aim is to give aspiring owners a head start in their ownership journey by rewarding them for good saving habits.

Empowering first-time buyers with a head start

According to a survey conducted by EdgeProp among young Malaysians aged 22 to 30, many aspire to own a home within the next five years. However, the most common hurdle is coming up with the initial deposit — something they believe could be made easier with some financial help, often from family.

“The EdgeProp Jar is our way of reimagining that help,” Ong added. “By turning saving into something rewarding and empowering, we’re giving young buyers an alternative path forward.”

Boost Bank: Creating value through everyday banking

Boost Bank brings its innovative digital banking capabilities to make this program possible.

“We are proud to bring our digital banking innovation that directly supports one of life’s most meaningful milestones — homeownership. The EdgeProp Jar reflects our vision of how digital banks can play a more proactive and empowering role in people’s financial journeys. By aligning with partners like EdgeProp and Sime Darby Property, we’re delivering tangible value where it matters most by helping young Malaysians build the financial foundation they need to own their first home,” said Fozia Amanulla, chief executive officer of Boost Bank.

Sime Darby Property: Bridging a new generation of homeowners

As a key development partner, Sime Darby Property is extending this incentive to buyers of its thoughtfully designed and strategically located homes. “We believe in enabling lifestyles that are sustainable and attainable,” said chief marketing and sales officer Datuk Lai Shu Wei of Sime Darby Property. “This collaboration goes beyond just selling homes. It is about creating access, especially for young and first-time homeowners, and removing the barriers that stand in their way.”

More participating projects and developers are expected to be added in the coming months.
