KOTA BHARU (May 16): Malvest Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maplehome, Malaysia’s largest short-term stay management provider, to run homestay operations at Arika@Kubang Kerian.
Arika@Kubang Kerian is a 42-storey serviced apartment development located near the USM Health Campus.
It comprises 668 fully furnished residential units and 26 commercial shoplots. Featuring more than 45 lifestyle facilities, “the development has received strong market interest and is fast emerging as a new benchmark for urban living in Kelantan”, stated Malvest Group in a media release.
The MoU was signed by Tan Kian Boon, managing director of Malvest Group, and Danny Hor, managing director of Maplehome.
The ceremony was officiated by Hilmi Abdullah, Kelantan state executive councillor for Local Government, Housing, and the Environment.
“The 42-storey Arika building, currently under construction in Bandar Baru Kubang Kerian, will be the tallest building in Kelantan upon completion. This follows the success of Malvest’s earlier project, Troika Kota Bharu, a 36-storey tower in the city centre. Both projects are built with a modern Islamic design, offering contemporary living in a lush and green environment,” said Hilmi.
“This reflects the progressiveness of Kelantan’s people, who are now able to own premium urban properties comparable to those in the Klang Valley—while continuing to uphold our unique lifestyle and cultural identity,” he added.
In addition to the MoU signing, the event also saw the launch of the “Buy Your Dream Home, Win a Proton e-Mas 7” lucky draw. A range of activities was held throughout the event, including special promotions for the Arika@Kubang Kerian development, exhibitions by leading banks, magic shows for children, and balloon giveaways by clowns.
Tan said the partnership with Maplehome brings extensive industry expertise that will deliver hotel-standard homestay management services to homeowners at Arika@Kubang Kerian.
The strategic tie-up is expected to boost rental returns and long-term property value, while serving the needs of tourists, local residents, and the academic community at Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Health Campus.
Construction of Arika@Kubang Kerian is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026.
