PUTRAJAYA (May 27): IOI Properties Group Bhd (KL:IOIPG) announces that its IOI City Mall Phase 2 has received Certified Green Building Index (GBI) rating under the Non-Residential New Construction: Retail (NRNC: Retail) category, making it the largest mall in Malaysia to obtain GBI certification to date.

The developer also received Certified Green Building Index (GBI) rating under the GBI Non-Residential New Construction: Hotel (NRNC: Hotel) category for its 480-room Moxy Putrajaya that is linked to IOI City Mall, as well as GBI Silver rating for its IOI City Towers 1 and 2.

“The upgrading of GBI certification to Silver for our IOI City Towers and the addition of two new GBI certifications for Moxy Putrajaya and IOI City Mall Phase 2, making it the largest GBI-certified mall in Malaysia, reflects the group’s unwavering commitment to a greener built environment,” said Chris Chong, IOI Properties’ Property Investment chief operating officer, in a media statement issued today.

The certifications were presented by GBI CEO Sarly Adre Sarkum and witnessed by IOI Properties director of property development in the central region Ho Kwok Wing and P I Architect principal Datuk Tan Pei Ing.
