KUALA LUMPUR (May 30): Tropicana Corp Bhd (KL:TROP) has redesignated its group chief executive officer Datuk Mark Victor Rozario (pictured) as a non-independent non-executive director.

The changes will be effective on June 1, 2025, according to the property developer's filing with the exchange on Friday.

Rozario, 60, took on the role as group CEO, along with the non-independent executive director position on Dec 3 last year.

He also sits on the board of Petronas Gas Bhd (KL:PETGAS) as an independent non-executive director. Rozario previously served as CEO of General Electric International Inc, Agensi Inovasi Malaysia, Country Heights Holdings Bhd (KL:CHHB) and Adventa Bhd (KL:ADVENTA).

On Thursday, Tropicana posted a net profit of RM1.32 million in the first quarter ended March 31, 2025 (1QFY2025), lifted by a tax credit of RM6.63 million. The group has remained profitable for two consecutive quarters since its last net loss of RM454.9 million in 3QFY2024.

Revenue for the quarter fell 10.61% to RM260.36 million from RM291.28 million in 1QFY2024, attributed to lower recurring income following the completion of several investment property disposals.

Tropicana shares settled down two sen or 1.67% to RM1.18 on Friday, valuing the group at RM2.97 billion.
