KUALA LUMPUR (June 19): IHG Hotels & Resorts will open its first voco hotel in Malaysia, voco Kuching, next year.
According to a press statement dated June 17, the 321-room voco Kuching is located a 15-minute drive from Kuching city centre and five minutes from Kuching International Airport.
Some of the hotel facilities are swimming pool, all-day dining restaurant, lounge, fitness centre, as well as more than 2,400 sq m of meeting space, which includes a ballroom with a capacity of 1,300 guests.
Launched in 2018, voco is the fastest growing brand within IHG’s premium collection, having achieved 100 hotels over 25 countries in seven years since the brand's debut.
The voco brand made its Asian regional debut with voco Orchard Singapore in 2022 and has since opened six hotels in Southeast Asia and Korea. There are plans for further market entries in Thailand, Malaysia and Jamaica set for the next two years.
