• In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Thursday, the civil engineering group said its wholly owned subsidiary, Advancecon Infra Sdn Bhd, is seeking RM15.22 million in outstanding payments from CCC, along with interest and other relief.

KUALA LUMPUR (June 19): Advancecon Holdings Bhd (KL:ADVCON) said the group has issued a notice of adjudication to China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd (CCC) over a payment dispute relating to the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Thursday, the civil engineering group said its wholly owned subsidiary, Advancecon Infra Sdn Bhd, is seeking RM15.22 million in outstanding payments from CCC, along with interest and other relief.

The amount claimed is for subgrade, drainage and culvert works along two stretches of the ECRL for which Advancecon Infra was appointed as the sub-contractor in 2020.

Advancecon said that on March 12, 2025, Advancecon Infra submitted a payment claim for outstanding sums of RM10.17 million and RM5.05 million, but CCC allegedly failed to make any payment.

Advancecon Infra then served the notice of adjudication issued under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 to CCC to refer the dispute arising from the payment claim to adjudication, the group said.

"Save for Advancecon Infra’s claim and disbursement involved in the adjudication, the company is not expected to have any material financial and operational impact at this point in time," Advancecon said.

Advancecon shares rose half a sen or 2.2% to 23.5 sen on Thursday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM137.4 million. The stock has declined 9.62% year-to-date.
