- The 39-storey office tower will serve as the 10th building in TRX. It will offer approximately 925,000 sq ft of gross floor area and 800,000 sq ft of net lettable area, together with a biophilic design and large, flexible floor plates to meet the needs of modern businesses.
KUALA LUMPUR (June 26): TRX City Sdn Bhd, the master developer of the 70-acre Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday to mark the construction of a new office tower in TRX.
The 39-storey office tower will serve as the 10th building in TRX. It will offer approximately 925,000 sq ft of gross floor area and 800,000 sq ft of net lettable area, together with a biophilic design and large, flexible floor plates to meet the needs of modern businesses.
PwC Malaysia will be the anchor tenant, occupying about 250,000 sq ft of the tower. In November 2024, PwC Malaysia signed a binding head of terms with TRX City to move its headquarters to TRX, occupying at least 200,000 sq ft.
The tower is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2029 (2Q2029), according to TRX City chief executive officer Datuk Azmar Talib in his welcoming remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony.
Meanwhile, TRX City is preparing a request for proposal to appoint a leasing agent for the new office tower. The developer is also in the process of securing up to RM660 million financing for this development.
“This new 39-storey tower, designed to international standards, will be a standout addition to our [TRX] district,” said Azmar.
He added that the retail component of TRX—The Exchange TRX—is nearing full occupancy, while residential projects are more than 95% occupied and the office buildings currently in operation have reached close to 80% occupancy.
The office tower will feature a grand boulevard arrival, public and private gardens, multi-level security systems as well as other in-building amenities and services.
In her keynote address on behalf of Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Finance Ministry deputy secretary general (investment) Datuk Dr Shahrazat Ahmad said the groundbreaking ceremony is not just a success for TRX, it is a win for Kuala Lumpur.
"Realising Kuala Lumpur’s full potential as a competitive international financial centre demands full alignment and coordinated execution across all arms of government, so that we continue to strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s centrality and competitiveness," said Shahrazat.
