KUALA LUMPUR (July 4): Crest Builder Holdings Bhd (KL:CRESBLD) on Thursday announced the passing of its non-executive chairman Tengku Datuk Sulaiman Shah Tengku Abdul Jalil Shah, who had served on the group’s board since 2003.
The cause of death was not disclosed in the construction group's bourse filing.
Tengku Sulaiman, 69, was appointed as executive chairman in February 2003, before being re-designated as non-executive chairman in March 2005.
He was primarily responsible for the orderly conduct and working of the board and the public relations and communication affairs of the group, according to the filing.
Crest Builder noted that Tengku Sulaiman Shah had over 35 years of experience in the construction, printing, advertising, freight, and health products industries.
The group’s board now comprises Yong Shang Ming as managing director, Koh Hua Lan as executive director, and Mahathir Mahzan, Lim Boon Teng and Tong Hock Sen as independent non-executive directors.
Crest Builder is involved in the construction sector, with a project portfolio encompassing high-rise developments, mixed-use and transit-oriented projects, and commercial buildings. The group has also diversified into property development, mechanical and electrical services, and project management.
