MELAKA (July 14): Radium Development Bhd (KL:RADIUM) has broken ground on Radium Hospital @ Ayer Keroh located in Melaka, marking the developer’s entry into the healthcare sector through its new division, Radium Healthcare.

The facility, formerly known as A Famosa Specialist Hospital, is a 140-bed tertiary care centre slated for completion in the first half of 2028, according to a media statement issued on Monday.

“This groundbreaking represents more than the start of construction—it marks our commitment to building long-term value through essential services that improve lives,” said group managing director Datuk Gary Gan in the statement.

He added that the hospital will be operated in partnership with M Life Healthcare Sdn Bhd, led by Radium Healthcare chief executive officer Dr Arun Kumar.

“Radium Hospital is more than just a facility—it is the start of a healthcare network committed to patient-centred care, advanced technology, and equitable access,” said Arun.

Located next to the Melaka International Trade Centre and less than 4km from the PLUS Highway, the hospital is designed to serve growing healthcare needs in tier-two cities and support medical tourism in the state.

It will anchor Radium Centricity, a 7.11-acre integrated wellness development that will also include hospitality, lifestyle and healthcare-related components in future phases.

The hospital was officially launched in May 2025, alongside the formation of Radium Healthcare, which the group has signalled plans to pursue further healthcare projects in strategic locations across Malaysia.
