- Scheduled to be launched in October 2025, SPEED Selangor is expected to shorten processing times at the local authority (PBT) level. REHDA Selangor views this as a timely and strategic move towards enhancing administrative efficiency, improving transparency, and fostering a more investor-friendly development environment across the state.
PETALING JAYA (July 14): Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (REHDA) Selangor is optimistic about the introduction of the Streamlining Programme for Expedited Approvals and Decisions (SPEED Selangor).
The new policy by the Selangor government announced by Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari (pictured), Menteri Besar of Selangor, is aimed at accelerating approval processes for business and development applications related to the property industry.
Scheduled to be launched in October 2025, SPEED Selangor is expected to shorten processing times at the local authority level. REHDA Selangor views this as a timely and strategic move towards enhancing administrative efficiency, improving transparency, and fostering a more investor-friendly development environment across the state.
“We commend the Selangor state government for introducing SPEED Selangor, a testament to the government’s serious commitment to improve approval efficiency. A reliable and timely approval system has long been a priority for our industry, and with this policy in place, we are optimistic about faster turnaround times, better coordination with local authorities, and a more conducive environment for property development across Selangor,” said Datuk Zaini Yusoff, chairperson of REHDA Selangor in a media release today.
Zaini also hoped that SPEED Selangor will be implemented for housing development application processes sooner rather than later.
“We have yet to receive any details pertaining to the rollout and which industries will be included, but we hope that the residential property sector will be given priority due to the severity of approval delays developers are experiencing for their housing projects,” he added.
REHDA Selangor believes the initiative will strengthen investors’ confidence and will help address outstanding issues, including delays that impact project timelines and housing delivery.
