SELAYANG (July 17): The once-abandoned 168 Park Selayang in Selayang, Selangor, has successfully delivered vacant possession of its fully-sold Block A (Lush Residence) nine months ahead of schedule on July 1.

Formerly known as Selayang Star City, 168 Park Selayang was revived by white knight 168 Park Selayang Sdn Bhd, offering three residential blocks and retail mall 168 Park Mall.

Block C was handed over in August 2024, followed by the opening of 168 Park Mall in December 2024. Meanwhile, the 49-storey Block B is scheduled for completion in October 2026, with 85% sales targeted by June 2026.

Block A offers 477 serviced apartment units. It was originally slated for completion in February 2026.

“This milestone represents more than just early completion. It demonstrates our commitment to rebuilding confidence and delivering on our promises to the community,” said 168 Park Selayang Sdn Bhd CEO Edward Lum in a press statement issued on Friday.

The project’s transformation follows a High Court takeover in the first quarter of 2022, when construction on Selayang Star City had stalled for years.

The revival effort has been closely monitored by the Housing and Local Government Ministry as part of a broader national strategy to address abandoned housing developments.

“168 Park Selayang represents our vision for the future of Malaysian property development where every project prioritises community building. We're already planning our next transformations, with announcements coming soon about additional projects across the Klang Valley,” Lum added.

A new residential development is expected to launch in northern Petaling Jaya in 2026, as the developer aims to build on the momentum generated by the Selayang revival.
