- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof: “Asean is transforming into a resilient and competitive single market—where resources, capabilities and varying stages of development are seen as shared assets. This regional integration is accelerating infrastructure development, particularly in the property and real estate sectors, driving prosperity through enhanced connectivity.”
KUALA LUMPUR (July 24): Archidex, an architecture business event jointly organised by PAM (Malaysian Institute of Architects) and C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd, and the Asean Real Estate Conference (Arec) 2025, organised by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), are estimated to generate RM2 billion in business and investment opportunities. Both events are currently being held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
The events were officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, with Minister of Housing and Local Government Nga Kor Ming in attendance.
"Asean is transforming into a resilient and competitive single market—where resources, capabilities and varying stages of development are seen as shared assets. This regional integration is accelerating infrastructure development, particularly in the property and real estate sectors, driving prosperity through enhanced connectivity," said Fadillah in his officiating remarks.
In his welcome address, Nga said, "Through the business matching session, Arex seeks to attract interest from both regional and global investors, unlocking new pathways for business growth aligned with Asean's broader vision of sustainable development and shared prosperity. We are targeting RM2 billion in transaction value through this exhibition held together with Archidex, Asia's premier architecture and design exhibition.”
Archidex is a dual-venue event held at Mitec from July 21 to July 24, and KLCC alongside Arec from July 23 to July 26. The event is expected to welcome over 56,000 visitors from 110 countries and regions, with 850 exhibitors across 36,700 sq m of exhibition space.
At Mitec, Archidex featured a showcase on Fenestex, a showcase of advanced façade and fenestration systems driving sustainable building design. At KLCC, some notable highlights include the World of Works (WOW), Asean’s first real-life workplace simulation, the MTC–PAM Pavilion promoting the global potential of Malaysian timber, and the Malaysia-China Customised Furniture Zone, dedicated to meeting the rising demand for tailored interiors and fit-out solutions.
Meanwhile, Arec’s focus is on affordable housing, climate-resilient infrastructure, and smart city strategies that respond to the needs of rapidly urbanising populations with the theme “The Real Estate Renaissance: Innovate, Integrate, Impact”. Some key topics covered include cross-border housing collaboration and financing, urban mobility and infrastructure resilience, and regional sustainability standards for the built environment.
