KUALA LUMPUR (July 29): Property developer Titijaya Land Bhd (KL:TITIJYA) said a fire broke out on Tuesday at a condominium in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, owned by its subsidiary Laksana Wawasan Sdn Bhd.

Titijaya said the fire incident was confined to part of the car park area on level five of The Shore Kota Kinabalu, according to a filing to Bursa Malaysia.

“The fire was brought under control promptly, with no casualties or injuries reported,” Titijaya said without disclosing the cause of the incident.

The incident is expected to have minimal financial impact on the group, Titijaya said.

Earlier, local media reported that the incident occurred shortly after midnight, prompting a large-scale evacuation of hundreds of residents.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department was cited saying that the blaze, which involved construction materials stored on-site, damaged about 20% of the parking floor. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
