PETALING JAYA (Oct 17): NCT Group of Companies (NCT Group), through its property arm NCT Land Sdn Bhd, has partnered with the Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL) to strengthen the NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) and attract investors to the district.

The agreement was made during the Selangor International Business Summit 2025 (SIBS 2025).

NCT Group executive director Datuk Joe Yap Fook Choy said NSIP is a step towards positioning Malaysia at the forefront of tomorrow’s industries.

“Our aim is to build a world-class hub that brings together advanced technologies, smart infrastructure and seamless networks, serving as a launchpad for global enterprises while empowering local entrepreneurs to grow in a thriving environment.

“Through our partnership with MPKL, we are ensuring NSIP is aligned with both community aspirations and regulatory priorities, creating an ecosystem that redefines industrial growth and creates long-term value for investors, businesses and the people of Kuala Langat,” he said in a statement.

MPKL president Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd said Kuala Langat is entering a new era of opportunity, and NSIP will be a cornerstone of that journey.

“By working with NCT Group, we are shaping a district that is competitive, sustainable and inclusive.

“From attracting high-value industries and creating jobs, to delivering better facilities and building stronger communities, this partnership reflects our determination to position Kuala Langat as a model of smart development that contributes to the nation’s broader growth trajectory,” he added.

Through this collaboration, both sides will work to bring in investors and support local entrepreneurs. The partnership also includes plans to improve public infrastructure such as roads, drainage, street lighting and public transport in and around NSIP.

The project aims to integrate smart city elements like digital infrastructure and Internet of Things (IoT) systems. It also focuses on developing public spaces such as parks, markets and community halls to make the area more livable for residents.

Environmental sustainability and community welfare are also key parts of the plan. NCT and MPKL will work together on green initiatives like tree planting and digital monitoring of resources. They will also run joint programmes for education, youth development and public health.

To make it easier for businesses to operate, both sides agreed to align their regulatory processes. This means faster project approvals and clearer communication between developers and the council.

Mohd Hasry said the partnership marks a new chapter for Kuala Langat, turning it into a more competitive and sustainable district. He said NSIP will be a major driver of local jobs, investment and facilities, helping Kuala Langat become a model for smart urban growth.

Located in the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (IDRISS), NSIP is Malaysia’s first officially certified Managed Industrial Park. With a focus on sustainability and modern planning, it’s expected to boost the state’s economy and improve quality of life for local residents.
