KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 22): Manufacturer of sheet metal products and supplier of scaffoldings BWYS Group Bhd announced the acquisition of a 28.92-acre freehold industrial parcel in Kuala Langat, Selangor, worth RM94.5 million.

In bourse filing on Oct 22, BWYS said its wholly owned subsidiary, BW Scaffold Industries Sdn Bhd, entered into a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Compass IP Sdn Bhd for the land located within the Compass @ Kota Seri Langat industrial and logistics hub in Mukim Tanjung Dua Belas, Banting

The industrial park is situated about 60km southwest of Kuala Lumpur and 37km northwest of Klang.

The company said the acquisition will support BW Scaffold’s future operational expansion, as the new site offers a larger area than its current premises.

According to BWYS, the group plans to build a new factory on the land comprising warehouses and centralised labour quarters, which will enhance its overall operational capacity.

The facility will cater to BW Scaffold’s rental and supply of scaffoldings and the manufacturing of sheet metal products such as polyurethane foam sandwich panels, roofing sheets, and roof trusses. It will also provide storage space for the group’s steel materials.

Construction of the new factory is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2026.

The company added that the acquisition and subsequent factory development are expected to yield long-term cost savings by eliminating annual rental payments of approximately RM2.66 million for its existing facility.

BWYS plans to finance RM20 million of the land purchase using proceeds from the disposal of its Bukit Changgang property, with the remaining amount to be funded through borrowings.
