KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 26): Repair work to fix the signalling system on the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Putrajaya Line is still in progress after Saturday’s (Oct 25) disruption.
In a statement Sunday, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd reported that a technical investigation found that a greater number of fibre optic cables had been cut and stolen, requiring extensive repairs to ensure stable and safe operations can be resumed.
“Consequently, trains travelling from Kwasa Damansara Station to Putrajaya Sentral Station are being driven manually, resulting in slower speeds and longer stops at each station, with an expected train frequency of every 20 to 30 minutes,” read the statement.
A free shuttle bus service is running between Kwasa Damansara and Putrajaya Sentral stations to assist passengers, with a frequency of every 15 to 20 minutes, depending on current traffic conditions. Passengers requiring assistance are advised to speak with station staff or the auxiliary police on duty.
Rapid Rail advises passengers to check the Rapid KL social media pages and the PULSE app for the latest information and updates.
They also recommend planning journeys and considering alternative transportation options to avoid delays.
"Rapid Rail apologises for all inconvenience caused, and greatly appreciates the patience and cooperation from all commuters throughout this disruption," the statement concluded.
