UEM Edgenta names Shaiful Zahrin Subhan as its new chief

• Shaiful succeeds Syahrunizam Samsudin, who resigned at the end of August to take the helm of independent power producer Malakoff Corp Bhd.

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 28): UEM Edgenta Bhd (KL:EDGENTA) has appointed Shaiful Zahrin Subhan as its new managing director and chief executive officer, effective Saturday (Nov 1).

Shaiful succeeds Syahrunizam Samsudin, who resigned at the end of August to take the helm of independent power producer Malakoff Corp Bhd (KL:MALAKOF).

Shaiful joined UEM Edgenta in January 2023 as head of healthcare solutions and managing director of Edgenta Mediserve Sdn Bhd, “where he was responsible for steering the company’s strategic direction, operational excellence and business growth in Malaysia’s healthcare support industry”, according to the group’s bourse filing on Tuesday. 

Prior to that, he served as group CEO of Iris Corp Bhd (KL:IRIS) from 2017 to 2022. 

Shaiful also held various leadership roles earlier in his career across the telecommunications, broadcasting and information technology sectors.
