Jess Chong’s real estate journey began 15 years ago with a single residential rental deal in a small apartment. From that modest transaction, she embarked on a career that has since transformed her from a solo agent into a respected leader of a large team. Her story is a powerful testament to the idea that a high-performing career is not built alone but is instead an exercise in strategic team building.

Jess’s biggest breakthrough moment, which unlocked her millionaire journey, was the pivotal realization that she couldn't do it all alone. She explained that her journey to her first RM1 million was a direct result of building a team and a solid system.

High performance, she believes, begins with trust, both in systems and in people.

“The real turning point was when I realized you cannot go alone. You need a team and a system to achieve your goals,” she said. “My journey to RM1 million was all about building a strong team and a scalable system that allowed us to grow together.”

Her daily habits and principles are centered on strategic planning and team empowerment. She believes that a leader's role is to provide clear direction and support to their team.

Jess considers the pandemic to be her most challenging year, but she saw it as an opportunity for innovation. She used the difficult period to improve her skills and adapt to a new way of doing business.

“The pandemic was a tough year, but I used the time to learn and adapt. It was a chance to improve my online marketing skills and connect with clients in a new way,” she recalled.

She advises younger agents that the key to making it big is not a secret but a habit. She stresses the importance of consistency and a focus on the basics.

“I always tell new agents: Be consistent, be patient, and be hungry. The market has its ups and downs, but your discipline should remain a constant,” she urged.

True leadership is not about the numbers you hit, but about the people you help rise with you

Jess’s definition of success has evolved from personal wealth to the collective success of her team. She now measures her success by the leaders she builds and the lives she helps change. As she said that “My legacy is not about the numbers I hit, but about the people I’ve helped grow. I hope to be remembered as a leader who helped others fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams.”
