Henrick Tan's formula for real estate success through experience and empathy

Henrick Tan’s entry into real estate was driven by a combination of passion, curiosity, and purpose. “My passion for helping people, my interest in property and design, and my drive to build something of my own,” he shared. Always enjoying interaction and problem-solving, he saw real estate as a meaningful way to guide clients through some of the most important decisions of their lives whether buying their first home, selling a property, or investing in the future.

He began his career in 1997, attending relevant courses, obtaining his license, and working under an experienced agency to learn the ropes. Early on, Henrick focused on building trust and relationships. Over time, his network and client base expanded through referrals, online presence, and consistent follow-ups.

“It’s been a rewarding journey, and I’m always learning something new in this dynamic industry,” he reflected.

Henrick’s consistent approach to success is built on daily planning, relentless follow-ups, tracking performance, staying aware of market trends, and maintaining self-discipline. This framework ensures that every opportunity is maximized and that clients consistently receive professional guidance.

One of his proudest moments in 2024 came from helping a young couple purchase their first home after more than a year of searching. Limited financing options and strict location requirements had left many agents frustrated, but Henrick stayed in touch, educated them on the market, and continued scouting behind the scenes.

Early in 2024, he found an undervalued listing that met their needs, arranged a private viewing, negotiated a fair price, and connected them with a banker to secure the loan. “When they got the keys, they told me it felt like a dream come true. That moment reminded me why I love what I do,” he said.

The year was not without challenges. A market slowdown in early 2024, rising interest rates, and hesitant buyers meant deals took longer to close, and some leads went cold. Henrick overcame this by doubling down on relationship-building and follow-ups, educating clients about market shifts and financing options, and upgrading his marketing through video content, clearer property presentations, and better lead tracking.

Real estate is more than transactions; it's about creating meaningful impact and helping clients achieve their dreams.

Henrick’s advice for aspiring agents emphasizes discipline and patience: focus on lead generation every day, master your market, be visible and valuable, follow up like a pro, invest in yourself, and stay consistent.
