UEM Edgenta unit wins contract to manage Shell Malaysia’s stations

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 8): Asset management and infrastructure solutions company UEM Edgenta Bhd announced that its subsidiary, Edgenta GreenTech Sdn Bhd, has secured a multi-year contract to provide Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) services for Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd’s nationwide network of fuel and retail stations.

In a statement on Monday, the partnership appointed UEM Edgenta as the sole provider overseeing planning, coordination and end-to-end management of facilities maintenance, repair works and capital projects across Shell’s retail network. 

The agreement emphasises asset lifecycle management, operational efficiency and enhanced safety standards.

According to UEM Edgenta managing director and CEO Shaiful Subhan, the contract supports the company’s focus on technology-enabled asset management, including the use of its proprietary digital platform, Asseto. 

The AI-enabled system provides real-time operational visibility and predictive maintenance capabilities aimed at minimising downtime and improving asset performance.

The collaboration also aligns with Shell’s ‘Goal Zero’ Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) commitment, with UEM Edgenta implementing risk management practices and safety controls across operations.

Edgenta GreenTech head of Property & Facility Solutions and managing director, lr Vekneswaran T Arasappan added that the combination of Asseto and the company’s safety framework is expected to strengthen asset lifecycle management and support Shell’s operational goals.
