AWC bags RM42.3 mil job from Gamuda for data centre works

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 12): AWC Bhd (KL:AWC) has secured a RM42.3 million subcontract from Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd for mechanical works at a hyperscale data centre development in Puncak Alam, Selangor.

Gamuda Engineering is the engineering arm of construction giant Gamuda Bhd (KL:GAMUDA).

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Friday, AWC said the contract was awarded to its wholly owned Qudotech Sdn Bhd for the supply and installation of cold water, rainwater harvesting and sanitary systems at Eco Business Park V.

The job covers works for two facilities, with construction slated to begin on Dec 8, 2025. Facility 1 is scheduled for completion by Feb 28, 2027, while Facility 2 is expected to be completed by Sept 1, 2027.

This marks AWC’s second contract win this week. On Tuesday, its engineering services unit Ambang Wira Facilities Sdn Bhd (AWF) secured a RM52.3 million contract from the Public Works Department to undertake facilities management and maintenance works at the Putra Mosque in Putrajaya.

Shares in AWC closed one sen or 1.8% higher at 58 sen on Friday, valuing the group at RM199.5 million. The stock is down 37% year-to-date.
