KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 12): Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has opened five new hotels and signed three additional properties in Malaysia in 2025, reflecting the growing confidence in the hospitality group’s brand portfolio and strategy, as well as strong demand across Malaysia’s tourism sector.

According to a press statement issued on Monday, the five hotels launched in the fourth quarter of 2025 are: Wyndham Grand i-City Shah Alam in Selangor; Wyndham Garden Suites Ipoh ICC in Perak; Howard Johnson by Wyndham Kota Kinabalu City Centre in Sabah; The Isola KLCC in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Kuala Lumpur; and Trigo Kuala Lumpur in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur.

The three new signings announced are Wyndham Garden Kuantan J-City, Wyndham Grand Ipoh, and Orion Tower Kuala Lumpur, a Registry Collection Hotel. It is also Wyndham’s first under the Registry Collection brand in Malaysia.

“Malaysia is an important market within our Asia-Pacific strategy, supported by the strong and growing demand we are seeing across the tourism sector. As that growth continues, we are building our presence by partnering with the right owners in the right markets and placing our brands where we know they can make a real difference for today’s travellers,” said Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ vice-president of development for Southeast Asia and Pacific Rim Matt Holmes in the statement.

He added that the new developments are part of its long-term strategy to grow its scale and brand representation in key Malaysian markets.

Including its new additions, Wyndham now operates 19 hotels in Malaysia across more than 5,200 rooms and eight brands, including Ramada, Days Inn and Wyndham Grand.

Malaysia recorded 24.5 million international visitors between January and July 2025, a 16.8% year-on-year increase, with tourism receipts reaching RM161.9 billion during the same period.
