SEBERANG JAYA (Jan 29): SkyWorld Development Bhd (KL:SKYWLD) has launched its first sales gallery in Penang, marking its official entry into the northern region.
Located in Seberang Jaya, the SkyWorld Gallery @ Seberang Jaya also houses the city developer’s Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) Experience Centre and Satellite Quality Centre, according to a press release on Jan 28.
The launch event was attended by members of the Penang media, who toured the newly introduced facilities and previewed a show unit of the upcoming SkyWorld Pearlmont development.
Chief executive officer Lee Chee Seng said the opening marked an important milestone in the company’s expansion into northern Malaysia.
“By bringing our PPVC Experience Centre and Satellite Quality Centre to Penang, we aim to elevate how homebuyers experience quality and innovation in a SkyWorld home,” he said.
More than a conventional gallery, the facility is positioned as an engagement and learning hub offering insights into SkyWorld’s industrialised building approach.
The PPVC Experience Centre showcases a modular construction method using factory-finished building modules assembled on-site, aimed at reducing site disruption and improving build efficiency.
The Satellite Quality Centre complements this by outlining the group’s quality management process, which includes an Inspection & Test Plan covering civil, structural and architectural works.
SkyWorld’s presence in Penang is anchored by its 34-acre freehold development, SkyWorld Pearlmont, located in Seberang Jaya and developed under the Rumah Bakat Madani initiative.
Over 80% of the 1,166 units under Phase 1A have been taken up, to date.
SkyWorld Pearlmont is the country’s first large-scale residential project built using PPVC, and introduces Malaysia’s first vertical school concept. Key features include an elevated 10-acre SkyPark, retail integration, a minimum 85% QLASSIC score, a 10-year leak-proof warranty and a fixed RM0.18 psf maintenance fee for a decade.
