JOHOR (Feb 2): Eco Business Park 8 (EBP8) hosted the Eco Business Park 8 First Look event on Jan 30 at the EcoWorld Sales Gallery in Eco Business Park II (EBPII), offering businesses and stakeholders an exclusive preview of this newest industrial development strategically located within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).

The programme highlighted EBP8’s role as a key growth catalyst within the JS-SEZ, a transformative cross-border initiative aimed at strengthening regional connectivity, deepening Johor-Singapore economic integration and attracting high-value investments across Asean, stated Eco World Development Group via media release. With increasing emphasis on advanced manufacturing, technology-driven industries and resilient supply chains, the JS-SEZ is widely regarded as one of the region’s next major growth engines.

“EBP8 has been thoughtfully planned to capitalise on the strong momentum of the JS-SEZ. As businesses reposition within a rapidly evolving regional economy, EBP8 offers a strategic platform that brings together location, infrastructure readiness and long-term development potential,” said EcoWorld deputy CEO Liew Tian Xiong during his welcome address.

“Beyond providing industrial space, our objective is to create a well-integrated business environment that supports productivity and long-term business expansion. EBP 8 reflects EcoWorld’s commitment to supporting Malaysia’s ambition to attract high-value investments while contributing to sustainable economic growth,” he added.

Industry insights were shared on the opportunities presented by the JS-SEZ, highlighting how businesses can leverage the zone’s strategic advantages to strengthen operations and generate long-term value. Financial educator and content creator, Fong Wei Ziet presented his perspectives on JS-SEZ as the “Asean New Growth Engine: Opportunities to Multiply Wealth”.

As part of the programme, a panel discussion was held on key considerations for SMEs in a hightech investment era. Moderated by famous deejay Xiao Ma, the session featured Fong, Liew and Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre Johor vice-president Yeap Kok Peng, who shared practical perspectives on navigating evolving business demands, leveraging emerging growth corridors and positioning enterprises for long-term competitiveness within the JS-SEZ landscape.

Strategically positioned under the “Twin Cities” model, EBP8 enables international investors to optimise cross-border operations while benefiting from facilitation support, positioning EBP 8 as a gateway for growth for innovation-led growth.
