KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): AME Elite Consortium Bhd (KL:AME) has secured a RM214.1 million contract from KLIA Aeropolis Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, to build the first phase of a specialised test cell facility in Sepang.

AME Elite said the facility is designed to meet stringent safety and technical standards for aircraft engine testing, drawing on the group’s expertise in delivering high-specification industrial projects.

The project, comprising the main building works for the aeronautical facility, is slated to be completed within 12 months, the group said in a bourse filing.

Group CEO Dylan Tan Teck Eng described the award as a milestone for AME Elite. “Being entrusted with this landmark project underscores our technical capabilities and adds to our track record of significant projects. It supports the national blueprint to grow Malaysia’s aerospace industry,” he said.

He noted that AME Elite’s construction and engineering foundation is supported by an integrated model that has delivered customised facilities across logistics, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, aviation and its signature industrial parks.

"The award validates our ability to deliver with precision and speed under strict safety standards. We are well-positioned to meet the rising demand for high-specification and high- performance buildings in Malaysia’s fast-growing sectors,” said Tan.

AME Elite expects the project to contribute positively to its earnings for the financial year ending March 31, 2027.

With this latest win, the group’s construction and engineering division has secured more than RM600 million worth of external projects since the start of the current financial year.

Shares in AME Elite closed two sen or 1.3% lower at RM1.48 on Tuesday, valuing the group at RM948.19 million. Over the past year, the stock has declined 12.9%.
