KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): Binastra Corp Bhd (KL:BNASTRA) has secured a RM503 million contract for the proposed development of a data centre in Jalan Sri Permaisuri, Kuala Lumpur.

The contract involves the design, construction, testing and commissioning, as well as maintenance and guarantee works on a turnkey basis, a Bursa Malaysia filing on Wednesday showed. The scope also includes foundation, sub-structure, main building and infrastructure works.

The award “marks the continuity of the data centre job flow from our clients”, said Binastra managing director Datuk Jackson Tan Kak Seng.

The project is slated to commence on Feb 19, 2026, and is expected to be completed within 20 months from the start date. The company now has six contracts related to data centres.

Binastra now has outstanding jobs totalling more than RM7 billion, a new all-time high, following the latest contract awarded to its wholly-owned subsidiary Binastra Builders Sdn Bhd from Exsim Sri Permai Sdn Bhd.

The contract comes on the heels of a contract secured last month worth RM742.9 million for the main building works of a high-rise development in Johor Bahru.

“Beyond our established presence in the data centre projects in Bukit Jalil and Cyberjaya, we are actively exploring new opportunities with potential clients to expand our data centre footprint,” Tan added.

Shares of Binastra were unchanged at RM2.07 at Wednesday’s noon break, giving it a market capitalisation of RM2.26 billion.
