Kitacon secures RM99 mil construction job in Cyberjaya

KUALA LUMPUR (March 25): Kumpulan Kitacon Bhd (KL:KITACON) has secured a RM99.28 million construction contract in Cyberjaya, Selangor.

In a bourse filing on Wednesday, the company said the letter of award covers the construction of 128 units of three-storey terraced houses, another 19 units of terrace houses with covered parking spaces, one guardhouse unit, one electrical substation unit and a facility area.

Works will begin on May 2 and are slated for completion within 24 months, Kumpulan Kitacon said.

The contract from ParkCity Botanika Sdn Bhd, part of ParkCity Group that develops the 473-acre Desa ParkCity, marks Kumpulan Kitacon’s second contract win for the year.

The first contract was for the main building works and ancillary buildings of a township in Rawang. The contract, secured in March, was valued at RM89 million and awarded by Rawang Lakes Sdn Bhd, part of Low Yat Group.

Kumpulan Kitacon was up half a sen or 0.7% at 71 sen at Wednesday’s midday break, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM352 million ahead of the latest contract announcement.
