KUALA LUMPUR (April 1): Citaglobal Bhd (KL:CITAGLB) has secured a RM150 million contract from Malaysia’s Public Works Department (JKR) to design and build military family housing at a key naval base in Sabah.

The project involves the design and construction of permanent housing and supporting facilities for officers and personnel of the Royal Malaysian Navy at a strategic installation responsible for maritime operations in Sabah’s eastern waters, according to the group’s filing with Bursa Malaysia.

“The [design-and-build] contract was awarded following a competitive tender process administered by JKR and places Citaglobal Land Sdn Bhd in the position of integrated delivery partner with end-to-end accountability from design and engineering through to construction, commissioning and handover,” the group said.

Citaglobal Land is the wholly owned civil engineering and construction unit of the group.

The navy housing is dubbed Rumah Keluarga Angkatan Tentera at Markas Wilayah Laut 2 (MAWILLA 2) and is expected to be completed within 40 months from the date of site possession.

The group noted that the construction of purpose-built housing at MAWILLA 2 represents a long-term federal investment into critical national infrastructure, aimed at improving living standards for military personnel and their families.

Following the latest award, Citaglobal’s outstanding order book now stands at about RM1.44 billion as of March 31, compared with RM1.80 billion at end-2025.

In recent months, the group has secured a series of contracts across infrastructure, utilities and renewable energy segments, including a RM628 million raw water supply and flood mitigation project in Selangor and an RM168.88 million Federal Route 3 highway upgrade awarded by JKR, to name a few.

Shares in Citaglobal closed unchanged at 85 sen on Tuesday, valuing the group at RM419.39 million. The stock has declined more than 9% year to date.
