EcoWorld sells last two parcels at QUANTUM Edge, Kulai to hyperscale data centre operator for RM280.8 mil

PETALING JAYA (April 24): Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) has sold the final two industrial land parcels at its QUANTUM Edge business park in Kulai, Iskandar Malaysia, to hyperscale data centre specialist KNBDC Malaysia Five Sdn Bhd for approximately RM280.8 million.

According to its statement, the transaction — signed today (April 24) via a conditional sale and purchase agreement between EcoWorld's wholly-owned subsidiary Eco Business Park 6 Sdn Bhd and KNBDC — covers a combined 49.588 acres. 

With this sale, all industrial land parcels at QUANTUM Edge — launched in June 2024 and specifically designed for data centres and high-tech operations — are now fully disposed of.

KNBDC joins Microsoft and Princeton Digital Group as tenants at the park, which EcoWorld president and CEO Datuk Chang Khim Wah described as "one of the largest digital and high-tech hubs by a private developer in Malaysia". 

The three operators represent data centre investments from North America, Asia-Pacific and the regional hyperscale sector respectively.

QUANTUM Edge sits within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), which has emerged as one of Southeast Asia's most active destinations for data centre and high-tech foreign direct investment, underpinned by infrastructure upgrades and policy support from both the federal and Johor state governments.

The deal reinforces EcoWorld's strong start to FY2026. The group has achieved 52% of its full-year sales target in the first four months of the financial year, with industrial sales accounting for 36% of cumulative sales. 

Following the KNBDC transaction, FY2026 industrial sales are set to rise further.

EcoWorld has a total landbank of 12,280 acres across the Klang Valley, Iskandar Malaysia, Penang and Negeri Sembilan, with a total estimated gross development value of RM100 billion.
