KUALA LUMPUR (April 28): CBH Engineering Holding Bhd (KL:CBHB) has secured a RM29.69 million work order for a data centre in Johor, adding to its order book that remains heavily skewed towards data centre-related jobs.

The contract involves the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a consumer substation for the data centre.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Monday, the ACE Market-listed group said its wholly-owned subsidiary, CBH Engineering Sdn Bhd had accepted the work order from an undisclosed customer identified only as Company A.

The customer was incorporated in Malaysia and is principally involved in providing infrastructure for hosting, data processing services and related activities, but its identity could not be disclosed due to a non-disclosure agreement, the filing said.

The contract covers Phase 1 works for the 275kV consumer substation, and is scheduled to run from April 27 until an estimated practical completion date of Sept 30, 2026.

CBH said the scope of works includes high-voltage and medium-voltage electrical works, installation of substation equipment and systems, cabling and associated infrastructure, earthing and lightning protection systems, as well as integration with Tenaga Nasional Bhd's (KL:TENAGA) metering and information and communication technology systems.

Listed in January 2025, CBH is an electrical engineering services provider specialising in substations, power distribution systems and related infrastructure works.

As at February 2026, CBH’s outstanding order book stood at RM592 million, of which about 90% was tied to data centre-related substation projects and is largely expected to be recognised in the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026 (FY2026).
