SkyWorld inks MOU with MARA to strengthen investment and education collaboration

KUALA LUMPUR (May 6): SkyWorld Development Bhd has formalised a strategic collaboration with  Malaysian government agency Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) through the exchange of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the MARA Synergy Summit: Sustainability as the Nation’s Growth Engine, held in conjunction with MARA’s 60th anniversary at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur on May 4.

SkyWorld said in its statement that the MoU marks a significant milestone in strengthening ties between the urban property developer and the Malaysian government agency, with a shared focus on driving sustainable economic growth and talent development in Malaysia.

The agreement provides a structured framework for cooperation over a period of three years, with both parties committed to developing specific initiatives and programmes through mutually agreed arrangements.

Property and infrastructure focus

Under the partnership, SkyWorld and MARA will jointly explore high-impact investment opportunities spanning property development, supporting infrastructure, commercial facilities, and community driven developments. ‘

The collaboration builds on SkyWorld's established track record as an urban developer focused on high-rise residential, commercial, and affordable properties strategically located within the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. 

Human capital and education initiatives

Beyond bricks and mortar, the MoU also encompasses a range of educational initiatives, including industrial training, research collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technology benchmarking, aimed at nurturing a future-ready workforce.

The education component underscores both parties' commitment to inclusive growth and human capital development in line with Malaysia's national agenda.   

Speaking at the signing ceremony, SkyWorld chief executive officer Lee Chee Seng said: "This collaboration with MARA reflects our commitment to building not just homes, but sustainable communities and future opportunities.

“By combining SkyWorld's expertise in urban development with MARA's strong mandate in socio-economic advancement, we aim to create meaningful impact through strategic investments and education initiatives that will benefit both industry and society."

The signing was witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid  Hamidi, alongside MARA chairman Datuk Wira Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, MARA director general Datuk Zulfikri Osman, and SkyWorld chairman Datuk Seri Ng Thien Phing, among other senior officials from both organisations.
