PBT tenants in Negeri Sembilan to enjoy 20% rental cut

SEREMBAN (May 14): The Negeri Sembilan state government has agreed to provide a 20% rental reduction for all tenants of local authority (PBT) premises from June to December this year, involving a total cost of RM1.4 million.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun (pictured) said the seven-month reduction would benefit tenants occupying 5,199 premises under Seremban City Council (MBS), Port Dickson Municipal Council (MPPD), Jempol Municipal Council, Tampin District Council, Kuala Pilah District Council, Rembau District Council and Jelebu District Council.

He said the measure was aimed at easing the burden on tenants while stimulating local economic activities.

“The reduction will benefit tenants occupying 5,199 PBT premises statewide,” he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting here yesterday.

Meanwhile, Aminuddin said portfolios that are currently vacant will be temporarily overseen by existing executive councillors, with further details to be announced next week.

Earlier it was reported that 14 Barisan Nasional state assemblymen had lost confidence in the Menteri Besar, resulting in four executive councillors losing their positions.

The four were State Rural Development, Plantation and Commodities Committee chairman Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias who also held the Agriculture, Food Security, and Cost of Living portflio; State Education and Human Capital Committee chairman Datuk Ismail Lasim; State Youth and Sports Commitee chairman Datuk Mustapha Nagoor; and State Heritage, Technology, Innovation and Digital Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli.

Meanwhile, Aminuddin said Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) has strengthened its sports science performance through an official collaboration with local nutrition brand NE-G as the club’s official energy gel partner for three years.

The NSFC chairman said the strategic partnership would see NE-G providing energy nutrition support for the main squad to help players maintain optimum stamina.
