Country Heights subsidiary clears winding-up petition after settling IRB claim

PETALING JAYA (May 15): Country Heights Holdings Bhd (CHHB) has resolved a winding-up petition filed by the Malaysian government against one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Country Heights Commercial Development Sdn Bhd (CHCD).

In a Bursa Malaysia filing yesterday, CHHB said it received a letter from the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB) on May 12, 2026, enclosing a sealed court order dated January 27, 2026, issued by the High Court of Malaya at Shah Alam.

The winding-up petition — filed by Kerajaan Malaysia on June 23, 2025, under Shah Alam High Court Companies Winding-Up Petition No. BA-28NCC-438-06/2025 — involved an alleged outstanding amount of approximately RM289,687.86. The High Court ordered the petition to be dismissed with liberty to file afresh, and directed that the RM3,000 deposit be refunded to the petitioner.

CHHB further received a settlement letter from the IRB dated May 4, 2026, confirming that the winding-up petition had been fully settled by the company. The winding-up proceedings against CHCD have accordingly been concluded.

The company said the dismissal is not expected to have any material financial or operational impact on CHHB Group's earnings, net assets or operations for the financial year ending 2026.
