Kempas Residences Block C: low-density resort-style homes in Genting Highlands’ serene enclave

There is a quiet sense of restoration to waking up to crisp, refreshing highland air, with greenery across every view. No wonder they call it an escape — away from the hustle and bustle of city rush and congestion, such a serene sanctuary is becoming a sought-after quality for holidaymakers to unwind and recharge.

One popular location for these short getaways is Genting Highlands in Pahang. Located only about an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur, the elevated hills offer cooling climates rarely experienced in the Klang Valley, beckoning not just vacationers, but more and more homeseekers too.

As a response to such demands, MLDC Bhd has, in March 2026, newly launched a low-rise residential development nestled within the forested embrace of the midhills within the broader Genting View Resort area.

Offering a build-then-sell product, Kempas Residences Block C is a newly refurbished project that shares an 8.94 freehold private enclave with five other residential blocks ranging five to 20 storeys.

Helmed by an experienced team in construction, MLDC has transformed an underutilised building in Kempas Residences, and over six years, invested in a major overhaul that has revitalised not just the building, but the whole Kempas development.

Super low density — rare premium in today’s market

Conceived years earlier, Kempas Residences is positioned as a super low-density retreat rather than a vertical cluster. Although it spans almost nine acres, there are only a total of 507 residences.

“The development today benefits from low-density allocation across a large freehold land area, a norm 30 years ago  — but impossible to find now or in the future of highland projects,” MLDC executive vice president Tong Gui Shuen tells EdgeProp.

The emphasis on spatial generosity and non-podium design translates into a noticeably calmer living environment. Spaces feel quieter and less congested, with wider gaps between buildings that allow natural light to filter through and open views to the surrounding landscape. Walkable pathways also weave through the greenery, with pockets of private nooks to encourage residents to stay closely connected to the natural terrain in a secured sanctuary.

This sense of scale becomes even more pronounced at Block C, which rises to just six residential floors and houses only 62 units, creating a more intimate living environment.

Resort-style living in a natural midhill setting

Kempas Residences enjoys not only a naturally cooler climate and a setting framed by lush greenery, but also a natural waterfall that lends its grounds a picturesque backdrop and a rhythmic murmur. Together, they envelop the surroundings in a calm, quietly restorative atmosphere.

Tucked away from busy main roads and tourist-heavy zones, the tranquil enclave is further defined by its private, access-controlled setting, secured by perimeter fencing and key-card entry for added peace and privacy. From the guarded entrance to Block C, residents are welcomed by landscaped greenery instead of imposing concrete walls, evoking the feeling of entering a private retreat. In fact,  it is so close to the forest that residents just need to step out to enjoy leisurely hikes in its oxygen-rich trails.

Complementing the natural setting, the facilities at Kempas Residences are thoughtfully curated to create a resort-like ambience and to support both privacy and social connection.

Elevated mountain‑view roof decks and a resort‑inspired swimming pool with sky deck overlook the surrounding highland landscape, creating spaces for retreat and relaxation. Communal areas such as garden barbecue areas, a pickleball court, and a rustic multipurpose and wellness hall also encourage social connection and a slower, more restorative living.

Rounding it up are thoughtfully-planned indoor and family-oriented amenities, including leisure lounges, wellness spaces, children’s facilities, and everyday conveniences that support comfortable long-term stays as well as short breaks.

This living environment lends itself effortlessly to multiple lifestyles — whether as a weekend sanctuary, a comfortable retirement home, or a thoughtfully-positioned investment within one of Genting Highlands’ more established and serene residential pockets.

Seamless access to daily conveniences and Genting Highlands’ attractions

And when the mood calls for more, the experiences expand effortlessly — pleasant coffee chats, satisfying meals, and shared adventures — all waiting just beyond the hills.

One of the key privileges of midhill living lies in the ease of access to daily conveniences without compromising the calm of a residential environment. Kempas Residences is situated near the vibrant shops of Gohtong Jaya and Genting Permai, where everyday amenities such as eateries, cafés, convenience stores, grocers, clinics, and essential services are readily within reach.

The development also enjoys close proximity to Genting Highlands Premium Outlets, a prominent visitor magnet known for its diverse retail offerings and international brands. Connected directly to the Awana Skyway, the outlets also serve as a gateway to Resorts World Genting, creating a natural convergence point for visitors heading towards SkyWorlds and Skytropolis Theme Park.

Limited availability — only 62 residences

Offering the certainty of a ready-built project with fully-furnished units, Kempas Residences allows you the advantage of tangible pre-viewing and immediate occupancy.
