KUALA LUMPUR (May 26): Lingkaran Cekap Sdn Bhd (LCSB), the authorised operator of the Genting Highlands road network, will implement road charges in two phases, effective May 28 and June 28, 2026.

LCSB said in a statement that all permitted road users, other than those in the exempted categories listed, will be required to pay the applicable road charge upon entry into Jalan Genting Highlands effective May 28.

The payment will be collected at the Genting Highlands entry at Genting Sempah and Gohtong Jaya entry at the Gohtong Jaya roundabout.

Under the road charge structure, a car or van in Class 1 will be charged RM5 at both the Genting Highlands entry and Gohtong Jaya entry points.

Medium lorries (Class 2) will be charged RM15, while heavy lorries (Class 3) will incur a fee of RM25 at both entry locations. Taxis (Class 4) will be charged RM3.30, whereas buses (Class 5) will pay RM5.

“Vehicles under Class 2, 3, 4 and 5 are required to enter via the “Lorong Khas” lanes or licence plate recognition (LPR).

“Emergency vehicles, motorcycles and private vehicles of public servants whose place of work is at identified government institutions in Genting Highlands are exempt from road charges,” LCSB said.

Meanwhile, LCSB said effective June 28, LCSB will register up to two Class 1 vehicles (registered vehicles) for eligible permanent residents of Genting Highlands, who will enjoy a preferential rate of 10% lower than the normal rate per entry by using the LPR lanes/Lorong Khas.

“Registered vehicles will not incur any charges before June 28,” it said.

In addition, LCSB will introduce a six-month season pass scheme for registered permanent residents.

The season pass will entitle holders to unlimited entries into Jalan Genting Highlands throughout its validity period via LPR lanes or Lorong Khas, providing greater convenience and significant cost savings.

“Permanent residents who are interested can obtain the season pass by submitting an application and making the necessary payment,” it added.
