PETALING JAYA (June 23): Propel Global Bhd has marked the groundbreaking of its Riverpoint project in Kuantan, Pahang, a commercial development with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM64 million that also represents the group’s first commercial property development project.

Developed by wholly-owned subsidiary Propel Global Development Sdn Bhd, Riverpoint comprises 31 three-storey freehold shoplots with built-up areas starting from about 4,202 sq ft, Pan Global said in a statement via a Bursa filing.

The project is located on a riverfront site along Jalan Tanah Putih, adjacent to the “Welcome to Kuantan” arch, and enjoys main road frontage, steady traffic flow and connectivity via Jalan Gambang to Kuantan town.

Each unit is designed with wide frontages, large display windows and efficient layouts to accommodate a range of uses, including retail, dining and office space, complemented by ample parking and pedestrian-friendly access.

Propel Global said the limited supply of 31 units in a gateway location offers scarcity value for investors and business owners seeking exclusive commercial premises.

The group noted that Kuantan’s position within the East Coast growth corridor, supported by ongoing infrastructure developments such as the East Coast Rail Link and the expansion of Kuantan Port, provides a favourable backdrop for Riverpoint as connectivity and commercial activity in the region continue to improve.

Propel Global said Riverpoint targets entrepreneurs, investors, F&B operators, lifestyle retailers and corporate tenants looking for strategic, high-visibility commercial premises. It added that the project is intended to deliver both investment appeal and commercial prospects for occupiers.

Executive director and group CEO Angeline Lee described Riverpoint as an important milestone in Propel Global’s strategic diversification into property development and a reflection of its confidence in Kuantan’s long-term growth prospects. She said the group aims to leverage its engineering, construction, and project delivery experience to establish Riverpoint as a commercial destination in Kuantan while generating sustainable value for shareholders, business partners and the wider community.

Propel Global added that Riverpoint forms part of the group’s broader evolution into complementary business areas alongside its existing oil and gas, and building technical services operations, as it continues to build new platforms for long-term growth.
