PETALING JAYA (July 2): Gamuda Land and Taylor's Assets today officially broke ground on Haus on 15, marking the start of the redevelopment of the former Taylor's College Subang Jaya campus into a mixed‑use community anchored by purpose‑built student accommodation (PBSA), residential units and retail spaces.

The project represents the adaptive reuse of one of Subang Jaya's best‑known education sites, reinforcing the continued evolution of the SS15 precinct as one of the Klang Valley's most established education‑led urban districts.

Located along Jalan SS15/8, the development will comprise two 31‑storey residential towers housing 614 units, alongside three storeys of retail space with 18 commercial units. Residential units will range from 550 sq ft to 980 sq ft, including dual‑key and triple‑key layouts aimed at both owner‑occupiers and investors.

A key component of the development is professionally managed PBSA operated by Taylor's Hostel Management. The PBSA is designed to address growing demand for quality student housing within the Subang Jaya–Sunway education corridor, which is home to more than 100,000 students across institutions including Taylor's University, Sunway University, Monash University Malaysia, INTI International University & Colleges and SEGi College.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Gamuda Land CEO Gim Teck Yew said the redevelopment reflects the company's long‑term placemaking philosophy, continuing the site's longstanding role in shaping the surrounding community while responding to the changing needs of students and residents.

"This is a site with deep meaning and memories for many. As we begin this transformation, our focus is to honour its legacy while responding to the evolving needs of today's students and urban communities.

“SS15 and Subang Jaya have always been shaped by education, connectivity and vibrancy, and this development continues that story in a meaningful way," he said.

Taylor's Education Group executive chairman Datuk Loy Teik Ngan said the redevelopment preserves the significance of the former Taylor's College campus while adapting it to meet future educational and lifestyle needs.

"By reimagining this historic site as a vibrant student living community, we are creating an environment that enriches the educational experience while strengthening the region's position as a preferred destination for students from around the world," he noted.

According to Gamuda Land, Haus on 15 is positioned within one of the Klang Valley's most resilient rental micro‑markets, benefiting from strong student demand, high occupancy levels and transit‑oriented connectivity.

The development sits approximately 500m from the SS15 LRT station on the Kelana Jaya Line and enjoys access to major highways including the Federal Highway, New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and the Subang–Kelana Jaya Link.

It is also surrounded by established retail destinations such as Subang Parade, Empire Subang, Sunway Pyramid and the SS15 commercial hub.

Gamuda Land estimates the surrounding catchment serves approximately 478,000 residents and 341,000 workers. Combined with the area's cluster of universities and colleges, the location has become one of the Klang Valley's strongest markets for student accommodation and rental housing.

Further details, including the development's launch timeline and phased rollout, will be announced at a later date.
