A photograph may capture a beautiful park, a tranquil lake or an iconic bridge. But behind every compelling image lies something far more enduring — the way a place makes people feel.

That idea sits at the heart of Setia Lenscape, S P Setia's nationwide photography contest held in partnership with EdgeProp and UCSI University. Beyond celebrating picturesque locations, the campaign invites Malaysians to discover the everyday moments that define life within S P Setia townships — places where people live, learn, work and play.

From expansive waterfront parks and lush green corridors to contemporary urban architecture, Setia Lenscape encourages participants to uncover authentic visual stories that reflect the unique character of S P Setia's developments across Malaysia.

"Setia Lenscape encourages Malaysians to capture the essence of life within our townships. Beyond beautiful scenery, participants will discover authentic visual stories that reflect the vibrancy of our communities, landscapes and architecture while experiencing how people live, learn, work and play within our developments," says S P Setia chief operating officer, Datuk Yuslina Mohd Yunus.

The photography contest also offers the public an opportunity to experience first-hand the award-winning landscapes and public spaces that have become hallmarks of the developer's township planning philosophy.

Why S P Setia townships stand out for landscape design and placemaking

Across its developments, S P Setia has consistently viewed landscape as more than an aesthetic feature. Landscape design forms an integral part of the township master plan, shaping how people interact with nature, move through their neighbourhoods and connect with one another.

This commitment was recently recognised at the Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards 2026, where S P Setia received awards for Landscape Development and Green Infrastructure from the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia. In June 2025, Setia Fontaines' Heritage Park in Penang earned the prestigious 5-Star Rosa-Sinensis Award 2025 by the National Landscape Development.

These accolades reflect years of investment in placemaking rather than standalone landscaping.

S P Setia’s landscape philosophy combines biodiversity conservation, ecological restoration and sustainable design through features such as native planting, fish, bird and butterfly habitats, natural water systems, aquatic plant filtration and solar-powered infrastructure.

But the objective extends well beyond environmental performance.

"Landscapes in Setia townships are not just decorative, but are designed to create opportunities for residents to live, learn, work and play while supporting outdoor interaction, community activities and healthy lifestyles. This reflects our unwavering commitment to placemaking excellence, where thoughtful design, sustainability and community wellbeing come together,” added Yuslina.

Five S P Setia townships every photographer should explore during Setia Lenscape

Whether participants are drawn to sweeping natural landscapes or striking urban architecture, every S P Setia township offers a distinctive photographic experience.

Setia EcoHill, Semenyih, Selangor
Nestled amid rolling terrain, Setia EcoHill offers photographers panoramic hilltop viewpoints, expansive community parks and the iconic Club 360. The township's green landscapes and natural contours provide changing perspectives throughout the day, particularly during sunrise and sunset, making it ideal for capturing both scenic vistas and everyday community life.

Alam Impian, Shah Alam, Selangor
At the heart of Alam Impian lies the 31-acre LakePoint Park, one of the township's signature lifestyle destinations. The lake, landscaped gardens, cycling tracks, jogging paths, playgrounds, skate park and lakeside viewing points create countless opportunities to photograph families enjoying the outdoors, active lifestyles and the township's rich biodiversity.

Setia Fontaines, Penang
The award-winning Heritage Park is one of the defining landmarks within Setia Fontaines. Featuring lakes, landscaped gardens, waterways, elegant bridges and themed fountains, the park offers photographers a diverse mix of natural reflections, architectural elements and the popular musical fountain that transforms the space throughout the day.

Setia Eco Gardens, Johor
The township's town park, lake and recreational spaces present a more intimate perspective of community living. Mature landscaping, open lawns and tranquil public spaces create opportunities to capture family gatherings, outdoor recreation and the slower rhythms of everyday township life.

KL Eco City, Bangsar
For photographers who appreciate contemporary cityscapes, KL Eco City presents a completely different visual language. Its modern architecture, integrated commercial environment and iconic pedestrian link bridge showcase how thoughtfully-designed public spaces can create a vibrant urban experience filled with movement, symmetry and human interaction.

How S P Setia townships encourage outdoor living and stronger communities

The landscapes across S P Setia townships are designed not simply to be admired, but to be actively used every day.

Parks, lakes, waterways, cycling routes, shaded pedestrian paths, playgrounds and community facilities are integrated into the township master plan to encourage residents to spend more time outdoors while naturally fostering healthier lifestyles and stronger neighbourhood connections.

One of the best examples is LakePoint Park at Alam Impian. The 31-acre lake park has become a popular destination for both residents and visitors, offering a 1.3km jogging and cycling loop, picnic areas, playgrounds, skateboarding facilities and scenic waterfront viewpoints that come alive during weekends.

Similarly, Setia EcoHill and Setia EcoHill 2 feature green streets, cycling and pedestrian paths, Adventure Park, South Creek and community parks that encourage jogging, cycling, nature appreciation and family recreation.

In Penang, the Heritage Park at Setia Fontaines serves as a public-facing lifestyle destination where landscaped gardens, lakes, jogging trails, cycling paths and waterways are woven into everyday experiences, while in Johor, Setia Eco Gardens continues to provide recreational spaces centred around its town park and lake.

Although each township expresses its own identity, they all share the same underlying philosophy: creating places where nature, community and everyday life exist in harmony.

Why Setia Lenscape is more than a photography contest

Photography has a unique ability to reveal details that people often overlook such as the sunlight reflecting across a quiet lake, children cycling through tree-lined streets, neighbours gathering in a community park or commuters crossing an urban link bridge.

These are the moments Setia Lenscape hopes participants will discover.

More than a photography contest, the initiative invites Malaysians to experience S P Setia townships from a fresh perspective, appreciating not only their award-winning landscapes and architecture but also the people and communities that bring these spaces to life.

Sometimes, the most memorable photograph is not simply about capturing a beautiful place. It is about capturing the life that unfolds within it.

EdgeProp, in partnership with S P Setia, invites photography enthusiasts and nature lovers to discover the beauty of S P Setia townships through Setia Lenscape. Submit your best photographs from July 6 to Aug 31 for a chance to win prizes worth up to RM50,000.
