PETALING JAYA (July 10): Hartanah Kenyalang Bhd has accepted a letter of award dated July 9, 2026 from the Public Works Department Sarawak for the construction of Wisma JKR Sarawak in Kuching, Sarawak, with a contract value of RM283.9 million.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Hartanah said its wholly-owned subsidiary Hartanah Construction Sdn Bhd had accepted the letter of award. The project represents the largest contract secured to date by Hartanah Construction, Hartanah said.
The contract period is 30 months, with the project scheduled to commence on July 23, 2026. Hartanah said the contract will not have any effect on the share capital and shareholding structure of the company and its subsidiaries. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets for the financial year ending Oct 31, 2026 and until completion of the project.
The group noted that the risks associated with the contract are mainly normal operational and execution risks, which it would address with appropriate measures. Hartanah also said that none of the directors and/or major shareholders of Hartanah, or persons connected to them, have any direct or indirect interest in the contract.
The board of directors said it is of the opinion that accepting the contract is in the best interest of the group.
