New 26-storey condominium proposed opposite Penang’s Gurney Paragon Mall

PETALING JAYA (July 13): A proposed 26-storey condominium development has emerged on a roughly 0.6-acre site along Jalan Kelawai, opposite Gurney Paragon Mall on Penang Island.

The site, currently used as a car park, is located between Arcadia and 99 Kelawai Apartment within the established Gurney Drive–Kelawai area.

According to PenangPropertyTalk.com, which reported the proposal based on publicly available information, the development comprises a 26-storey residential block with 50 condominium units supported by a six-storey parking podium.

The project remains at the planning stage, with no project name, developer, tenure, built-up sizes or pricing details disclosed publicly as at mid-July 2026.

Located within a mature urban district surrounded by existing residential developments, the proposed scheme represents another potential infill development along the Jalan Kelawai corridor, where land parcels are relatively limited within the established urban area.
