PETALING JAYA (July 16): PRISM, the global hospitality business behind brands including OYO and Sunday, has partnered with Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd (AZRB) and United Malayan Land Bhd (UMLand) to operate two hospitality assets in Malaysia.

Through the AZRB partnership, PRISM will operate Residence Inn Cherating on Malaysia’s East Coast, which the company positions as catering to leisure and extended-stay travellers, PRISM said in a press statement on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the collaboration with UMLand will bring Sunday Hotel Near Petronas Twin Tower, formerly known as Suasana Suites, under PRISM’s management, strengthening its presence in Kuala Lumpur’s urban hospitality segment.

The collaborations form part of its strategy to work with property developers to enhance hospitality assets through hotel operations, technology, revenue optimisation and distribution capabilities. The company added that developers are increasingly seeking hospitality operators that can support commercial performance and brand positioning beyond traditional hotel management.

PRISM Malaysia country head Abhijeet Singh said the partnerships reflect the company’s aim to become a preferred hospitality partner for developers seeking to maximise the long-term value of their assets.

“We are proud to collaborate with respected developers such as AZRB and UMLand, who share our commitment to delivering high-quality hospitality experiences,” he said.

AZRB CEO Wan Razali W Zulkifli said the partnership for Residence Inn Cherating would support the company’s hospitality portfolio through PRISM’s hotel operations, commercial strategy and technology capabilities.

“This partnership aligns with AZRB’s strategy of collaborating with experienced hospitality operators who can enhance the long-term performance of our assets,” said AZRB chief strategy officer Shahrulanuar Ishak.

UMLand senior manager Alex Millisits said the collaboration would enable the company to leverage PRISM’s hospitality expertise and operational capabilities to enhance Sunday Hotel Near Petronas Twin Tower while supporting the continued growth of Malaysia’s hospitality sector.

PRISM added the partnerships form part of its broader growth strategy in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, where it continues to collaborate with property developers.
