Liftech secures RM25 mil material handling system contract for Sepang test cell facility

PETALING JAYA (July 16): Liftech Group Bhd has secured a RM25 million contract from AME Construction Sdn Bhd for the design, supply, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of a material handling system for the main building works of a test cell facility (Phase 1) on part of PT7, Sepang, Selangor.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Thursday, Liftech said its wholly owned subsidiary Liftech Engineering (K.L) Sdn Bhd had accepted a letter of award from AME Construction, the main contractor and a wholly owned subsidiary of Main Market-listed AME Elite Consortium Bhd.

The contract covers the provision of labour, materials and tools for the design, fabrication and supply of bridge cranes with runway rail tracks, dual hoist carriers, auto-grab, trolley hoists, monorail pivot sections, monorail delivery tracks, bus bars and electricals.

It also includes installation, testing and commissioning works.

The contract period is 10 months, commencing from May 29, 2026, with completion scheduled on Jan 18, 2027 for Phase 1 and March 15, 2027 for Phase 2.

Liftech said the contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings per share and net assets per share over the duration of the contract.

The contract will not have any effect on the group’s share capital, gearing or shareholding structure, it said.

The company added that the contract, which is in the ordinary course of business of the group, is not subject to shareholders’ approval or approval from any other regulatory authority.

Liftech said the board was not aware of any material risks arising from the contract other than normal operational risks associated with the contract.

None of the company’s directors, major shareholders, chief executives or persons connected with them have any direct or indirect interest in the contract, it said.
